The Nighttime Safety Enhancement Plan will assess and recommend streetlight conditions and illuminance level to improve the nighttime travel safety and reduce any collisions happen in the dark conditions. The project just have began and the City is working with the consultant to collect and assess the existing streetlight conditions and preparing a listening session with Public Works staff to discuss streetlight maintenance, installations, and operations.

Completed round 2 outreach and selected preferred alternatives for A Street, B Street, Tennyson Road (Phase 1). Kicked off and collected data and information for Hesperian Boulevard, Mission Boulevard, and Jackson Street (Phase 2).
Originally, this project was partially funded by Fund 460 - Transportation System Corridor which does include transfers from the General Fund and Measure C. In order to minimize the impact on General Fund, staff received City Council approval to remove the entire General Fund contribution of $264,000 for the required matching portion of the project and replace with an appropriation from Fund 213, Measure BB (Pedestrian& Bicycle).

Santa Clara St Safety Improvements Plan was prepared to increase travel safety and slow overall speed.
